A Lawyer by profession, specializing in Corporate and Commercial Litigation, consumer issues and public interest litigation on environmental issues.
As Honorary Secretary/President of various NGOs and CBOs from 1985 including Exnora International, was involved in organising community groups (over 3000 "Civic Exnoras") on a self help basis to tackle local civic and environmental issues including community based solid waste management, promoting recycling, introducing eco-friendly technologies like bio-gas generation from human waste, dry composting toilets, sensitizing community opinion on local environmental issues, organising seminars/workshops/ training programs on environmental issues including Solid Waste Management involving all stake holders. Formed a coalition of NGO named "(WAMP)" for cleaning and monitoring the pollution in the Chennai waterways and
water bodies and coordinated its activities.

Regional Consultation at Jakarta, Indonesia on "Access to Land and Security of Tenure" by UNCHS (HABITAT)
Various electronic conferences on Solid Waste Management, was a member of the expert team in the electronic conference "Primary Collection of Solid Wastes in Developing Countries" organized by (GARNET), 1997
